Star Ripple Round Pillow

Image
I love fun projects.   Recently, I completed this star-shaped round pillow.   The followings are the basic information: Hook: #F (3.75mm) hook. Yarn: Red Heart super saver color white and color royal Zipper: 14 inches Finished size: 18 inches diameter. Every round is joined using the invisible join method. Every round is turned. Every round is made with single crochet with back loops only.  That is how I get the ridges. Because I want to have a zipper for the pillowcase, I made two pieces and joined in the center at the end. At the last stitch before changing the color , instead of making 1sc, followed by skip 1 stitch, made 2sctog instead.  This was to make a better and smoother color transition. At the end of the whole thing, a tube shaped piece will be done. The most difficult part is the beginning because of trying not to twist the long chain stitches.  Once I carefully manage not to mess up my shape, the rest is easy.

Two Colors Diagonal Leaf Stitch Bag

I came across with this bag graph ( https://www.knittingideas.ru/posts/24252-interesnaja-sumka-s-zhakkardovym-uzorom.html ) and decided to make one with my own twist.   I used whatever yarn I have at home.  I decided to try the combination of Bernat Super Value yarn, color Forest Green (440 yds) and Dark Heather (440 yds). I also chose to use #F (3.75mm) crochet hook.  Every 2 inches consisted of 10 single crochet stitches and/or 8 crochet knit stitches. Honestly, trying different stitch combinations is fun.  So, this was what I did for this bag: The entire bag was crocheted in the round with waistcoat stitch (crochet knit stitch) combining with invisible join at the end of each round.  There are mirror images at both sides of the bag.     The straps were done with both basic Romanian cord and single crochet stitches. I also added a zipper for the bag. After the completion, the body of the bag was 15.5 inches in horizontal width and 12....

I am so excited to complete this bag. I made two different versions. Version #1: Yarn: 1 skein of Bernat super value yarn, color Forest Green About 25 yards of Simply Soft yarn, color White Hook: #F (3.75mm) The body and the strap of this bag are made with Chevron stitches. The bottom of the bag consisted with textured wave crochet stitches. I also made two Romanian cords as conning pieces between the bag body and the strap. Version #2: Yarn: Dark color (D): Red Heart super saver color Claret / Bordeaux about 400 yards Red Heart super saver color Royal about 400 yards Light color (L): red Heart super saver color White about 60 yards Hook: #F (3.75mm) The body and the strap of this bag are made with a combination of Romanian cord and single stitches.

Bottom Up Zig Zag Shell Bag

Yarn: Hobby Lobby Crafter’s Secret Big idea, Color 15/passport (=Gray) (Lot# 008040, Art # 56. Total about 400 yds (365 m) Hook: #H (5mm) This zig zag shell bag was made from the bottom up. I started with the bottom oval piece.  Then I continue to crochet upwards using a chevron pattern. About the strap, because I want to have a sturdy strap, so I chose to use a smaller hook (#F) but  with the same yarn. I like the way it came out.

3-Color Circular Tote Bag

First of all, having plenty of leftover yarns is not uncommon because of knitting and crocheting for many years.  I often got annoyed by not knowing what to do with them.  The other day, I came across this beautiful tote bag design.  So I decide to use my leftover yarns and give it a try with some modification. The main part of this bag was made with a spiral crochet method.  The top border was made with reverse single stitches.  I also made a sturdy strap for carrying and inner liner to prevent any small items falling out.

Crochet Rib Clutch Bag

Recently I had the urge to crochet bags and purses. I used #H (5mm) hook and two different colors from Red Heart Super Saver Yarns. I started with a magic loop.  The entire crochet was done with back loops only approach. At the end, I added the inner layer and crochet a button to match the bag. The final product is 8 inch x 4.5 inches.

Fair Isle Purses Crochet

I like to make things as gifts.  A few years ago, we had a family reunion.  Since I have many  female relatives, I thought why not give them handmade purses.  I did not want to give them the same design, so I came out with different patterns.  Turned out they loved them.
