Crocodile Stitch Box (鱷魚麟片盒子)

It all starts from my mom’s request to teach her how to crochet a handbag with crocodile stitch.  I wanted to make a sample to show her my design but didn’t want to actually make a handbag because of my laziness.  So I decided to make a box to show her my crochet idea.

The yarn for this box is Aunt Lydia’s crochet thread Classic 10.  The hook size is #6 (1.80mm).  The size of finished product is 13 cm in length, 8cm in width, and 5.5cm in height.

You can use any kind of yarn and hook.  You can also change the size of the box, as long as you make sure the stitches for the crocodile stitches are correct.

This is a multipurpose box.  It is made with continuous crochet from the bottom center.

After finished with the bottom, I continue built upwards for the 4 sides.  Two opposite sides with same design.  The longer side is made with crocodile stitches; the shorter side is crocheted with simple double stitches.

Each of the crocodile stitch of this box consists with a set of 7 stitches.

Because of the way this box was crocheted, I don’t have to stiffen it.

鱷魚麟片盒子

這是一個多用途的盒子.鉤這個盒子的動機是媽媽想要鉤一個手提包,經過討論之後,決定用鱷魚麟片作為手提包的花樣主體.

當我在寫鉤織法程序時,因為沒有現成的成品花樣,我得把腦袋中的手提包花樣鉤法用文字寫出來,媽媽才知道要如何著手.

剛開始寫的時候,因為步驟不多,寫出來的程序簡單易懂.可是愈寫愈多的時候,思緒有時候會亂掉.明明知道,最好的方法就是自己鉤過一遍,依照鉤法把步驟寫下來.可是我又懶得鉤這麼大一個手提包.所以就想到用同樣的花樣鉤一個盒子,這樣的話,既不用鉤一個手提包,又可以把手提包花樣鉤法演練一遍,一舉數得.

這個鱷魚麟片盒子可以用任何粗細的線及鉤針.重要的是鱷魚麟片組的針數要對.

這個盒子是由底部中央往外鉤一長方形.不剪斷線,繼續往上鉤.

四面的盒子,寬的兩面是以7針為一單位的鱷魚麟片花樣組,窄的兩面是簡單長針.

整個盒子鉤完之後可以直立起來,不需加強固定.
